I haven't been updating my blog for a long long..super long time. Had been very busy with my new and first job. So busy until I only had time to eat, sleep and shit. It's the same cycle everyday. But I do not mind that, since everday I see different and new patients, which are very interesting and quite fun sometimes, despite the tiredness.
Today, I saw this patient with lung cancer. He was unable to cough out his phlegm, but when he coughed, you can literally hear the phlegm at the back of his throat. He was a very very very nice uncle. He talked in a gentle and kind manner.
Uncle: Thank you so much for helping me
Me: Uncle, no need to thank me, I will help you as much as I can
Uncle: I am also a human who understands that it is very difficult for you to help other people
Me (with tears in my eyes, trying to wipe them away with my gloved hands, and trying to hide it from him, in case he felt sad about his condition)
I tried with all my might and brain to help him move his phlegm out. I used every single techniques that I learned in school, but I was only able to get out minimal amount of phlegm, much to my dismay....
Uncle (a bit frustrated, shakes head): Cannot come out.
Me: Don't worry, uncle. I will help you as much as I can.
Uncle: Thank you so much. Really thank you so much. (pats my hand)
Me (eyes swell up again).....haiz
