(Source: The Straits Time, Singapore)Mat Selamat. A name that was slowly forgotten after his almost 1 year disappearance from the Whitley detention centre's toilet, got caught. In case you do not know who he is, he is the leader of a terrorist group called Jemaah Islamiah (JI) in Singapore......scary, huh?
(Just a thought: I think the police in the photo look like terrorists themselves, with the black thing, whatever you call it, over their head.....hehe, you need terrorising police to catch terrorists!!)
And where was he found? According to the The Straits Time (Linked to the title), he was found in the outskirt of Johor!!!!!
Looking at the map of Johor, other than the areas of Johor Bahru (north to Singapore), the other areas are considered as outskirt. That means, I was actually travelling back to my hometown without knowing that Mat Selamat might be lurking somewhere there?! Who knows??And guess what?? He was caught by Malaysian Police!!! What a suprise! They are finally doing something. For this I might forgive them for not catching the person who stole my mum's handbag.
So now he is held under the country's Internal Security Act. But according to The Straits Time:
"the 48-year-old was tracked down based on intelligence provided by Singapore's Internal Security Department (ISD), and a joint operation by Malaysia and Singapore's security agencies eventually led to his arrest".
So, the "intelligence" was actually provided by the ISD of Singapore. Haha........you know what I mean.
Anyway, we are now "selamat" (safe) from Mat Selamat because:
